Lapsang Souchong known as the first black tea in the world. Historically, Princess Catherine from Portugal had brought along her favourite black tea to England when she married to King Charles II. Her passion for tea has played an important role to promote Lapsang Souchong. Therefore, Lapsang Souchong was treated as a luxury drink in England and was used to serve England's Royal Family. 

During the early nineteen century, Anna who is the 7th Duchess of Bedford, have complained of “having that sinking feeling” during the late afteroon. The solution for the Duchess was a pot of tea and a light snack, taken privately. Not long after, all of fashionable society consume this tea along with afternoon snacks.
